About Corona Borealis
Welcome at the website of the Dutch Astronomical Foundation "Corona Borealis". We hope that by visiting our website and our observatory you will become more interested in what happens above us in the sky. The sky at night, the universe but also closer to our home, our own planet Earth which is our home in this large "empty" space.
The Dutch Astronomical Foundation "Corona Borealis" was founded in the year 1977. The objectives of Corona Borealis are twofold. At first we would like to bring astronomy to a broad public. Second, we would like to give non-professional astronomers the opportunity to pratice their hobby as good as possible by offering them a location and equipment, organizing events and sharing knowledge.

Corona Borealis is temporarily located at Steenhuizen 6, "De Steenuil" in Zevenaar, the Netherlands. Zevenaar is near the city of Arnhem in the eastern part of the Netherlands close to the border of Germany. Corona Boralis is also a member of the national association "Landelijk Samenwerkende Publiekssterrenwachten".
Our working area is Arnhem and its surroundings with outher observatories being nearby such as in Lochem, Bussloo, Nijmegen en Amersfoort. In addition, we are working together with people of the Observatory Kleve-Goch just on the other side of the border between The Netherlands and Germany.
